KompoZer - a WYSIWYG Web Editor
The web editing tool that I use is the freeware WYSIWYG editor KompoZer. This is a cross platform web editor. There are versions for Windows, Linux, and MAC platforms.
KompoZer is an outgrowth of the old NVu web editor that is part of web history. It has been developed on the Mozilla code base. KompoZer embodies the continued development of NVu, but for legal reasons can not use the NVu name.
One of the strengths of KompoZer is the css editor. KompoZer writes good, standards compliant html and css code.
There is an active user's group forum at: http://wysifauthoring.informe.com/forum/ and members there are available to answer questions about using KompoZer. Several members offer additional information about the program and its usage, as well as information about websites in general.
KompoZer is available for download from: http://www.kompozer.net/download.php
KompoZer offers a source view that allows you to see the code that has been written. There is also the design view and a preview function that gives a good idea of what the page will looklike in the browser window. The source view can be a big help if you are interested in learning html code.
